EMOTIONS – HELP!!

Emotions can be so challenging. We live in a culture in which we often haven’t been encouraged to express them, or shown how to do so.

Here are a couple of tips about what to do with strong emotions when you notice them arising in you:

  1. Sit down and identify the emotion you’re feeling. Using the Feelings Wheel helps to pinpoint the emotion more precisely.
  2. Find a way to express this emotion, and therefore feel some relief: eg talk to someone, journal about how you’re feeling, go for a run, punch a cushion etc!
